VOYA – organic luxury from the sea.
VOYA is the leading luxury spa and skincare brand, located in country Sligo, on the wild Atlantic ocean coast of Ireland.
As a truly niche brand VOYA are focused on creating genuinely organic, seaweed-based products and spa treatments.
VOYA offers results-driven products based on highest-quality botanical ingredients and aromatherapy oils. A multi-award winning spa brand boasts a certified organic status, a family ethos and a tangible relationship with its core ingredient- seaweed.
VOYA's story began in 1912 when the first seaweed baths opened in Strandhill, Ireland. Seaweed bathing is a 300-year-old tradition and Ireland's only indigenous therapy. It's popularity however began to decline over time and the last of these traditional bathhouses was destroyed in September 1961 by hurricane.
Over 13 years ago, a newly marriage couple Mark and Kira Walton decided to trade in their hectic corporate careers and moved to scenic Sligo & joined family business. This business happened to be a relevantly small traditional seaweed bathing house which was reopened by Mark's brother Neil Walton, in Strandhill village in 2000.
As the popularity of the baths grew, the Walton family found more customers asking if there was some way they could replicate the soothing effects of a VOYA spa experience at home. In 2006, Mark and Kira Walton launched Lazy Days, a retail seaweed bath which then led to further skincare and body care lines, evolving into range that now includes over 50 products. Today VOYA is to be found in 37 countries, over 6 continents.
VOYA products contain minimum 70 % organic ingredients. VOYA products are used at professional, specialized high-level spa centers. The company also offers unique, high quality line for personal use.
IN FULL HARMONY WITH NATURE
VOYA expert team only use sustainable harvesting practices, which simply means that the seaweed is selected by eye and harvested by hand. No machinery is used so as not to harm the delicate seabed or marine life. Only a small portion of the seaweed is cut at a time to ensure it grows back within 6 - 24 months. The harvesters like farmers move on to different parts of the reef to allow it to fully grow back and replenish, thus creating sustainable harvesting.
VOYA voluntarily submits its products to be certified by both the Soil Association and the Irish Organic Farmers and Growers Association (IOFGA).
